The history of Ballestra

Established in 1960 by visionary engineer Mario Ballestra, the company introduced a groundbreaking continuous SO₃ sulphonation process. This innovation significantly improved efficiency and environmental sustainability in surfactant and detergent production.

By minimizing waste and aligning with the advent of mechanical washing machines, Ballestra rapidly became a benchmark in the industrial chemical sector. Mario Ballestra's leadership, characterized by passion and ethical commitment, fostered a collaborative and innovative corporate culture that remains integral to the company today.

Strategic Expansion and Leadership

A pivotal moment in Ballestra’s history occurred on January 1, 1980, when Marco Galateri, an exceptionally innovative leader with outstanding commercial acumen and a forward-looking vision of the market, assumed the role of Managing Director. His dynamic leadership style brought a decisive acceleration to the company’s international expansion.
